Press conference in Berlin

a-ha presented their new live release MTV Unplugged – Summer Solstice at a press conference at the Nordic Embassies in Berlin on Tuesday, September 12th. A video of the whole event, hosted by Norwegian musician and author Jo Nesbø, is available on a-ha.com’s Facebook page.

After the press conference, the band did a number of interviews with German and Norwegian media, including TV2 and NRK. Another video report appeared on ARD’s Brisant.

On Wednesday, September 13th, a-ha did further promotion in Berlin. Twelve pictures from a DPA photocall can be seen at belgaimage.be.

The first single from MTV Unplugged – Summer Solstice is called “This is Our Home” and is now available on for purchase/streaming. Watch the video on YouTube.

a-ha will present their new MTV Unplugged live album and concert film Summer Solstice at the Nordic Embassies in Berlin on Tuesday, September 12th [date corrected] according to Berliner Morgenpost.

The press launch will include an interview with the band members, moderated by the Norwegian musician and author Jo Nesbø.

a-ha have previously used the Nordic Embassies in Berlin to launch three albums; Lifelines in 2002, Foot of the Mountain in 2009 and Cast in Steel in 2015.

It’s safe to assume the band will do lots of other promotion as well, while in Germany.

Still no confirmed tracklist for the Summer Solstice album/video coming on October 6th, but four different formats are up for pre-order on CDON.eu; Blu-ray // Deluxe 2CD+Blu-ray // Deluxe 2CD+DVD // Triple vinyl.

a-ha did a playback performance of “Living at the End of the World” at the ‘Ein Herz für Kinder’ charity gala on ZDF yesterday.
The show was held in a hangar at the former Tempelhof airport in Berlin and nearly 19 million Euros were raised. The performance can be seen on YouTube.

a-ha to perform at charity gala in Berlin

a-ha will be in Germany to perform at the charity gala “Ein Herz für Kinder” this Saturday, 5 December. This was announced in a press release today.

The TV-show will be broadcast live from Berlin at 20:15 CET on ZDF. Other artists scheduled to perform include Sarah Connor and Peter Maffay.

“Ein Herz für Kinder” is a charity organization that runs projects for children both in Germany and abroad. 16 million Euros were raised at last year’s charity gala.

a-ha to perform at Goldene Henne award show

a-ha will be performing at the Goldene Henne 2015 award show in Berlin on September 5th, the day after the new album Cast In Steel is released.

The show will be held at the Berlin Velodrom with 4500 people in the audience, and will air live on the TV stations MDR and RBB.

Other acts scheduled to perform include Karat, Die Prinzen, The BossHoss, Andreas Gabalier, Santiano, Oonagh and Johnny Logan w/ Olaf Berger.

Morten and Magne attended the 24th Annual Echo Awards in Berlin on Thursday night (March 26th), to present the award for Best German Music Blu-ray or DVD.

“I thought we were here to get a prize for ‘most comebacks in a band history'”, Magne joked on stage, before presenting the Echo award to Helene Fischer for her live DVD Farbenspiel – Live aus München.

Paul was unable to join the others at the award show, as he had a flight to catch earlier in the day. But all three of them did appear together on Wednesday night (March 25th), as they attended the Echo Award 2015 Charity Dinner at Grill Royal. And if you missed the a-ha press conference on Wednesday, a new 24-minute video of the band in conversation with Tom Bromley has been posted on YouTube.

The German music site musikexpress.de reports that a-ha will hold a press conference at the Norwegian Embassy in Berlin next Wednesday, March 25th, to make a major announcement.

a-ha’s record company Universal and their media partners ProSiebenSat.1 Group have invited the press to the event, using the tagline “A-ha has something to say”.

Update: rollingstone.de is speculating that a-ha may announce a new album and tour at the press conference. The German concert promoter Peter Rieger is apparently also involved in staging the event, where the band will be speaking about “the past, present and future”.

a-ha have previously held two press conferences at the Norwegian Embassy in Berlin. In 2002, to present the Lifelines album, and in 2009, to present the Foot of the Mountain album.

The third concert of Morten’s Brother tour was held at the Columbiahalle in Berlin yesterday, with around 2000 people in the audience.

Offenbach is the last stop in Germany tonight, before the tour moves on to Holland, Belgium, France and the UK.

Several fans have asked for details on new merchandise, but there doesn’t seem to be any merch for sale, at least not in Germany.

In the album charts, Out Of My Hands falls from #1 to #6 in Norway and from #13 to #20 in Germany in its third week.

Morten tour dates 2012 confirmed

Info about four Morten Harket solo concerts in Germany and Switzerland in April/May 2012 were revealed (prematurely) by a German ticket agency today.

Following the info leak, Morten’s management decided to officially confirm the dates, Andrea at a-ha-net.de says.

These are the dates (so far):

30 April 2012: Munich, Germany
2 May 2012: Volkshaus Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland
4 May 2012: Mitsubishi Electric Halle, Düsseldorf, Germany
6 May 2012: Berlin, Germany

Update: The Swiss promo agency Good News have posted some info about the Zurich concert and a new promo picture on their website.

According to the website, which cites Universal, the album is now slated for a February 2012 release.
