Together with Paul Waaktaar-Savoy, Magne recorded two albums with the four-piece band Bridges in 1980 and 1981.

After a-ha took a break in 1994 he made four albums of film and television scores with Kjetil Bjerkestrand. Magne’s first proper solo album Past Perfect Future Tense was released in 2004, followed by A Dot Of Black In The Blue Of Your Bliss in 2008.

Together with the art collective Apparatjik he’s issued two albums in 2010 and 2012. A soundtrack album of his music for the movie ‘Beatles’ was released in 2014. His third solo album White Xmas Lies was released in 2019.
